How the math works

Most free saju calculators get people born near a boundary wrong. This one doesn't skip the fussy parts:

Solar terms, not calendar months. The year starts at 입춘 and each month starts on a solar term, timed to the minute for 1900 to 2100. Our 2026 dates match the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute's table exactly.
Korean clock history. Korea's standard time sits about 30 minutes ahead of the sun, and the country changed time zones and ran daylight saving in some years. The calculator corrects for all of it.
Born outside Korea? It uses your birthplace's own clock and the sun's position there.
Late-night births. It follows the 자시 (late-night hour) rule Korean readers use.

We checked it against 3,000 random birthdays from a standard Korean almanac (manseryeok). Zero differences.
